Emirates is one of the fastest growing
airlines in the world. Launched on 25th October
1985, Emirates is the international airline of
the United Arab Emirates, based in Dubai. Wholly
owned by the Government of Dubai, the airline
has had to develop and expand in order to stay
ahead of the competition. Now comprising an

Emirates is characterised by two key features,
continuous explosive growth and a constant focus
on top quality service.
The airline currently flies to 87
destinations in 59 countries around the world
and the network is expanding constantly. Current
peak destinations include;
- Australia (Perth, Sydney)
- New Zealand (Auckland)

Emirates Awards
Internationally acclaimed, Emirates has won more
than 190 international awards – it was named
Airline of the Year in 2000, 1999, 1998 and
1994.
In-Flight Innovations
Emirates was the first airline in the world to
provide a personal video system on every seat in
aircraft configured in three classes. In First
and Business Class, video cassette players are
installed in each seat allowing passengers to
choose from over 50 films in the video library.
The choice of videos is in addition to the 18
channels of television and 22 channels of radio
programmes available via the personal video and
audio system.
Each seat is equipped with a state-of-the-art
handset with which passengers can make telephone
calls directly from their seats using credit
cards. Wall-mounted telephones are also
available in each cabin. All aircraft have a
central fax machine operated by cabin crew,
making Emirates the first commercial airline in
the world to install in-flight telephones and
fax machines in every aircraft in the fleet.
Emirates passengers enjoy some of the finest
food in the sky. Designed by master chefs, meals
include hors d’oeuvres, salad, a choice of main
dishes, cheese, dessert, chocolates, liqueurs
and tea or coffee, all accompanied by fine
wines. Breakfasts of fruit juice, a hot main
course, pastries, bread, preserves, tea of
coffee are just the thing to start the day. And,
of course, throughout the flight, complimentary
drinks are served from the well-stocked bars.
Passengers do not need a window seat to see the
world outside. Emirates aircraft have two
cameras fitted to the undercarriage, one
providing a forward and one a downward view.
Pictures are transmitted through The Flying
Camera channel to the personal video screens and
can also be seen on the main cabin screens
Children on Board
Emirates offers a selection of meals especially
planned to appeal to the younger palate and are
available at no extra cost. You can arrange a
special meal when you book your child’s ticket.
Religious and dietary meals can also be ordered
in advance. The Skyriders Club is exclusively
for young travellers on Emirates. During the
flight, young travellers can watch a dedicated
children's channel on the in-flight
entertainment programming. Younger children will
receive a fun pack containing toys whilst older
children will receive colouring books and pens.
Upgrades

The Business Class cabin offers roomy seats,
which can be fully reclined and have

support. Champagne and fresh fruit juices served
prior to departure. All meals are served on
Royal Doulton bone china, with fine cutlery and
linen napkins. Special dietary meals may be
ordered when making reservations. As you would
expect, passengers enjoy the friendly, courteous
service of the cabin crew throughout the flight.
Flying in First Class, Emirates passengers enjoy
an ambience of quiet elegance, with the very
highest standards of luxury. The roomy First
Class seats have the additional feature of a
privacy hood (A330 only). Electronically
controlled, the canopy can be moved forward or
backward to provide privacy when required. And,
at the touch of a button, these seats become
sleepers with fully controlled leg rests and
lumbar supports. Whilst all cabin crew are
selected for their friendliness and courtesy,
those chosen to take care of First Class
